The annual gathering of the “Students OF the Year Scheme” was held on 31st January 2010 at the Student Activity Center of the school. The Principal Mr. George Tam and the newly appointed Assistant Principals were invited as the guests of the occasion. Mr. Tam expressed the wish that SOYS can play a more significant role in the development of the school, Hong Kong and China as a whole. The participants also extended their gratitude towards our Alumnus Philip Ching who started the scheme in 1986 which provided a very good platform to link up the students of different years. Through the scheme, the participants decided to play a more prominent role to link up the students of different years starting with building a closer relationship among the SOYS of different years as the first step of the action to be taken in the future. - Paul Yip (Assistant Principal)

Om 18th October, 2009, we kicked off the 85th and 90th anniversaries celebrations of Wah Yan College Kowloon and Hong Kong respectively with the Pace with Love V 2009 Wah Yan Walkathon.?
In the afternoon of 7 November 2009 there were around 200 people gathered at the Wah Yan Hong Kong Chapel and the School Hall to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the Ordination of Fr. A.J. Deignan, S.J. 10 Jesuit priests co-celebrated the Mass with Fr Deignan.(Fr Baptista, Fr Hurley, Fr Zee, Fr Lo, Fr McIntyre, Fr Deignan, Fr Chow, Fr Coghlan, Fr Russell, Fr Kane and Fr Walling). The 3 persons doing the reading during Mass were Dr Vincent Tse, Mr Dominic Poon and Mr. Au Yeung Kwok Hei while Mr. Raymond Yu and Ms Eva Chau did the offerings. After Mass, a tea reception was held in the School Hall. Dr David Fang gave us a detail account of Fr.Deignan's life starting from the date of ordination till now. It really helped us to refresh our 'knowledge'of Fr.Deignan.There was a mixture of old and young Wahyanites in the crowd together with friends to congratulate?Fr. Deignan.The teenagers were mostly the present junior form students. Some of the older Wahyanites brought along their children who were also Fr.Deignan's fans. Messrs. Martin Kwan and Cecil Chung, Chairman of the Past Students Associations of Wah Yan Hong Kong and Kowloon?respectively, were on the stage to congratulate Fr Deignan and presented him with a souvenir. While enjoying this meaningful occasion,our hearts were warmed by the sweet and gentle smile of our most beloved Fr A.J. Deignan, S.J. (View Photo Album here)

Three senior old boys who went to the Wah Yan at 2 Robinson Road were caught playing with their new hi-tech toy in a restaurant recently. The three buddies were obviously having a great time working, or rather playing, hard, determined to harness iPhone technology before sun-down. Could they be what Fr. Chow described as "Intellectually Competent and "Open to Life-Long Growth" in "The Profile of the Jesuit Student" that he published recently?
Click here to find out...
At last we have completed the qualification rounds. Latest standing: Saturday Players 15 points; 80's 12 points; 70 Pals 9 points; Millennium 6 points; Early Nineties 3 points and WYK 0 points. Tie for least foul team between Saturday Player and Early Nineties. Top scorer list is led by Lee Tin Chung (88 points), followed by Yuen Tin Sum (62 points) and Tony Cheung (60 points).
A presentation of "Profile of the Jesuit Student at Graduation for the Chinese Province" was made by Fr. Stephen Chow, Supervisor of the two Wah Yan Colleges, in our PSA Council Meeting last night. Adapted from the Jesuit Secondary Education Associations
Profile of the Graduate at Graduation, it portrays the Jesuit Student under five characteristics:
1. Intellectually Competent;
2. Loving as a Personal Orientation;
3. Open to Life-Long Growth;
4. Religious and Moral; and,
5. Committed to Acting on Justice.
Saturday Player continue their superior leading position followed by the 80's after the latter beat the
Millennium team narrowly by 1 point after the overtime. The Millennium & 70 Pals are in the third & fourth positions with the same match points.
The least fouls position remains the same with Saturday Player the least followed closely by the Early Nineties.
For the top scorer list, Lee Tin Chung (Sat. Player) remains the top position with 61
points, challenged closely by Tony Cheung (80's) with 58 points and Yuen Tin Sum (Millennium) with 57 points only.
The matches will continue with the last series in the qualifying round in the coming Saturday, 14 Feb.
