WYHK x MSS Career Fair 2024

Young Wahyanites behaved exceptionally well when the MSS girls were in the school hall while we kicked off the Career Fair!

Over 200 S5 students from WYHK and MSS participated in the joint school career fair in WYHK campus. 20 alumnae speakers were invited to share their experience and insights from the industry, including Medicine, Vet, Dentistry, Business, Start-up, Accounting, Psychology, Media, Journalism, Athletes, Engineering, Construction and Architecture.

Students enjoyed very much of the event as we were able to invite speakers in a variety of fields. On the other hand, speakers enjoyed very much as so many students had participated. One speaker had even shared his Instagram with the student! Although we only provide 30 minutes per sharing session, some students at the end found some of the sharing was really interesting and would even want to know more!

We would like thank for the following alumnae from both schools who participated:
Dr. Terence Tong (WYHK)
Dr. Isaac Yip (WYHK)
Dr. Angeline Lo (MSS)
Dr. Joanna Lee (MSS)
Mr. Adrian Hon (WYHK)
Mr. Dominic Lee (WYHK)
Ms. Francesca Lee (MSS)
Mr. Jeffrey Au (WYHK)

Mentors/Mentees matching session - 27 Oct 2022

Earlier this month, some 15 enthusiastic alumni served as mentors for about 50 F.5 students who have enrolled in the 2022/23 mentorship programme as mentees. This is the first event of the programme in the new school year. 9 groups were formed in the mentors/mentees matching session, with alumni being assigned into groups according to their professions and matched with students who indicated interests to study in the same field. The mentors will be sharing their experience and giving advice to mentees from choosing the right subjects in the university to working in the sector.

Surely the mentors and mentees would keep closely in touch throughout the year, and mentees should take this opportunity to ask more questions from their mentors for advices!

WYHKPSA Mentorship Program 2022-23

The new academic year has started!!

Earlier this month, three alumni: Justin Kwok (WYHK98), Nelson Ng (WYHK 00) and Michael Ho (WYHK 06) went back to the school to promote the WYPSA Mentorship Programme to the young boys (current F.5 students).

The annual plan for the 2022-23 Mentorship Programme mainly consists of:
Sep 22: F.5 recruitment and sharing session
Oct 22: Alumni mentors recruitment and grouping
Nov 22: Mentor/Mentee pairing and social event
Mar 23: Career fairs
May 23: Joint school interview workshop with MSS
Jul/Aug 23: Job shadowing

Whilst we have just recruited the F.5 students as mentees, we are currently seeking for WY alumni who are interested to be mentor/committee member/event organiser for taking part in the above activities for the Mentorship Programme. If you have the passion to serve our alma mater and to guide the younger generations of Wah Yan on their future paths, here is the opportunity!
